5 Thoughts.

  1. We just recently stayed at Santa Teresa, and enjoyed the property and amenities. Christine, John and Leandra are such a pleasant family, and we feel very fortunate to have been able to stay at Santa Teresa and enjoy their holiday home. We are trying to figure out when we can visit again!

    • Thank you very much Nichole, Stacey, Zachary and Kevin! We had such a good and funny time with you. This world cup will always be connected with you! Leandra is missing Zachary!
      All the best!

  2. We spent one week in June this past summer and we cannot speak highly enough about Christine, John & their property.

First of all, the location of the physical property is just off the main road connecting Panzano (several km away) and Mercantale, nestled into one of the hills just below the ridge of one of the many gorgeous, bucolic valleys that are prevalent throughout Chianti and Tuscany. Views from the property include olive groves, vineyards, narrow country dirt roads and ancestral stone homes and the small hill town of Montefioralle. The grounds are beautiful and cared for by the family, the gardens are lovely and John has created a lush lawn which he tends to lovingly, one of the few that you will find in Tuscany, or Italy for that matter. In addition, there is a nice swimming pool and patio. The property is quiet and peaceful.

The “barn” was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was renovated by John & Christine to reflect their personal style and, while most is new, it also retains some old world charm. The kitchen is fully outfitted, better than any one we have encountered while in Italy. Nothing is left to chance. The barn has large windows (with screens — very important and not always available in Italy!) which, when opened, supply nice cool breezes and the sound of birds and insects. The beds while firm are very comfortable; not overly hard as we have found many beds in Europe. There is a nice patio which is covered by an awning by the entrance to barn where we enjoyed many al fresco dining experiences. While sharing the same property, the space is still private.

Lastly, there are your hosts, Christine, John and their daughter, Leandra. They made us feel at home throughout our stay, especially Christine. The day we arrived we got in later than expected and by the time we were done unpacking, it was fairly late in the evening. Christine brought us a wonderful meal, home cooked pasta salad, pecorino cheese, prosciutto, homemade jams and bread, some tomatoes and some other treats that she had canned until we could get to town the next day. This was not included in our reservation. She was always available if we had a question or needed directions–the quintessential hostess. John took us to a local winery he likes one afternoon. And Leandra was helpful and sweet. They also have a friendly dog and two cats who roam the property but are not a bother if you prefer them not to hang around with you.

    • Dear Kate and Mickey,
Oh thank you so much! It was our pleasure to have the opportunity to meet you and spend some time with you! Leandra really appreciated the gift of Ovomaltine you sent from your trip in Switzerland.
On our next trip to the states we will definitely stay in your beautiful house on the seaside in North Carolina Dunecliff East http://www.emeraldislereality.com.
      Looking forward to seeing you!
      All the best
